1.Dr.Sunil Prasobh P , Additional Professor in  Medicine was awarded the Fellow of  Royal College of Physicians FRCP ( Glasgow). 

2. CME was conducted by the department involving other allied departments too . on topics like Diabetes. Rheumatology and Brain imaging.

3. Topic presentation by  senior and junior residents are conducted regularly. 

4. As a part  foundation course for 2019 MBBS 

General medicine department conducted sessions on 

 a) History of medicine including quiz competition for students

 b) Alternative and evidence based medicine

 c) Medical professionalism

 CME-  2019

Organized  By : Department Of Transfusion Medicine And Immunohematology,

 Government Medical College, Kollam.         

          ISBTI Kerala Chapter Annual Meeting and CME-2019 was held on Sunday August 18, 2019 at Government Medical College, Kollam.

          The programme started at 8.00 am with registration of delegates. The scientific session started with free paper presentation. 10 junior residents  from various Medical colleges, one technician and one consultant from SCTIMST participated in the free paper session.

          Official inauguration of the CME was done by Dr.SaraVarghese, Principal, Government Medical College, Kollam.

          The State Nodal Officer, Dr.Meena, Presented the topic-“Blood Transfusion Services In Kerala- A Step Forward” .  “Current Concepts In Transfusion Practice” –by Dr.Veena Shenoy, “Automation in a blood centre”- by Dr.Mohandoss Murugesan, “Importance of antibody screening in clinical practice” - by Dr.Shiffi Fazal, ” Platelet Rich Plasma Prolotherapy” by Dr.Vinu Rajendran were the talks given followed by lunch and General Body meet with handing over of charges to new office bearers. Finally, Quiz competition  for the Post graduate students was conducted by Dr. Sajith S 

         The CME came to an end by 4 O’Clock, prizes were distributed for the winners of free papers and quiz.

5 Childrens Day celebration

It was celebrated on November 14th . Various competitions for children were conducted in the dept and Prizes distributed. An animated movie was shown in ward for children.

  • Dr Binu Abraham, chaired a session in “ Pedheart”, annual pediatric cardiology  held in Kollam.

  •  Perinatal meeting is held monthly in conjunction with Dept of O & G..
